Andrew John Jones
ANDREW
Assistant State Attorney, Philanthropist, Father and Adventure Athlete are just a few words that describe Andrew in and outside of the courtroom.
After working for a multi-state law firm, Andrew earned a position at the State Attorney’s Office in Seminole and Brevard Counties. Traffic crashes, murders and thefts were three of the 1,000s of types of matters which passed through his desk. He held positions within nearly every division of the State Attorney's Office and prosecuted both juveniles and adults that committed felonies or misdemeanors. Andrew enjoys jury trials and successfully tried numerous motion hearings and trials during his seven year tenure. In addition to his work in the courtroom, he also spoke on the serious consequences of driving under the influence of alcohol to local high school students preparing for prom and homecoming seasons.
Philanthropy is a passion and large part of Andrew’s life. As young as fifteen, he was putting together fundraisers or volunteering to support local charities or causes; at twenty-six, he formed a charity that opened chapters in three different states and focused on inspiring his generation to volunteer for both local and national not-for-profits. This charity received numerous awards and multiple appearances on radio and TV stations. In 2009, his family foundation, A. Jones Family Foundation was created to help focus and develop Andrew’s philanthropic work. This Foundation took on the mission statement of ‘Making a Difference for Families’ and began endorsing and hosting relationship centered events in Central Florida. Currently, Andrew Chairs a large daddy-daughter dance and sits on various not-for-profit Boards in keeping with this mission.
Only second to his faith, he is most proud of being a father to his two intelligent and beautiful daughters. His oldest, Hannah, and youngest, Ava, attend a nearby Christian school. On the weekends, Andrew and his girls attend Northland Church in Longwood. Together they enjoy traveling, playing at the beach, movies, daddy-daughter date nights and various sports. He is very proud of both girls and will often brag of their accomplished chore list, athleticism and compassionate spirit for others. Andrew believes that his first “mission field” is with his kids and dedicates time every day (unless they are with their mother) to instill faith-based principles and hard work, into their lives and character.
Staying physically fit and active helps Andrew have a clear mind and balanced lifestyle. Not only is it a great stress reliever, but he often jokes that "with two girls, how can you not keep yourself ready to fight away the boys?" Andrew often competes in mud-runs, works out at the gym and practices yoga. Since one of his daughters is into gymnastics, he will even do a night or two of stretching to stay limber and connect, with her, over an activity she really enjoys. He also hikes portions of the Appalachian Trail (section hiking parts every year), enjoys golf and paddle-boarding. He is always up for trying new sports or participating in a run or tournament. If you have an event coming up, shoot him an invite and, if he is free, he will probably attend.
